Joining an NW Group is free. The Individual License is a voluntary, formal status in the NWANA network for those who want it.
What the license is
- A voluntary license: a formal status in the network for people who choose it.
- It records you as a licensed participant of the national NWANA network and binds that record to your home group, the default group of your home territory.
- It is one license for the whole network, the same in every territory and every group.
- Groups run walks and sessions as their people organize them, and a FORMING group's page states its stage plainly.
- Competitions and the NWANA Series run under the Athlete License, a separate sports instrument with its own rules and fees.
Price and term
The standard price is $20 per year, prorated by RunSignup for the time remaining in the current license year; through the end of 2026 the prorated price is about $5. Licenses are issued through the single NWANA Nordic Walking Groups club on RunSignup.
